Our experienced skippers prepared their suggestions of the best sailing routes to take you to see the best of the best in the Zadar sailing region.
Distance -10nm
Well protected from all but south quadrant winds!
Since all the buoys are in private ownership (Tavern Žmara), the same should be reserved to avoid surprises. Furthermore, the tavern offers fresh seafood since the family is included in fishing activities.
Call +385 98 7571 65 for buoy or mooring reservations and for docking assistance.
If on a buoy, one does not need a personal dingy since tavern staff offers free transport from and back to the yacht!
*Tavern Žmara is one of the few Adriatic dining spots which offers a wide selection of fish, meat or desserts prepared in the traditional wood-fired oven!
*Night spent on mooring or buoy is free of charge but understand dining at tavern Žmara (no other option in this bay)
Distance - 10NM
Calm night anchor spot (NOT well protected from all but NE and NW wind)
10-minute hike to the top of the Aba island, which is inhabited by rabbits and offers a magnificent view of the Kornati archipelago!
*Shoes are obligatory for hiking since there are no paths on the island!
SWIMMING BRAKES: ISLAND GANGARO
Distance -15NM
Well protected from all winds!
Telašćica bay offers safe anchorage (buoys or anchors).
The easier path to magnificent views on the salt lake “Mir” (eng. Peace) is by taking a buoy in Mir or Tripuljak bays from which you have 10 min hike towards the lake.
*Supply speedboat offers ice cream, fruits and vegetables two times a day (morning/evening)
*The lake is a lot less crowded in the afternoon since tourist ships are arriving throughout the morning!
*Since Telašćica is a nature park, park rangers will come to collect the entrance fee of roughly around 70 EUR
Distance - 15NM
Port well protected from all winds.
Old fisherman village with around 100 berth spots! Tel: +385 91 783 1421 Željko (English and Italian speaker) Should be contacted one day before arrival.
Port of Sali offers showers, water and electricity.
*Food Recommendation: Restaurant “Toni”
SWIMMING BRAKE: BAY PINIZEL, BAY PIZIKOVICA
Telašćica/Sali - Brgulje Bay
Distance - 30/23NM
Well protected from all but south quadrant winds!
Small Dalmatian community with less than 100 inhabitants.
*Buoys alongside Brguljski Island
*Night spent on the buoy is charged per meter, free of charge if anchored 300m away from the buoys
Telašćica/Sali - Pantera Bay
Distance - 17/10NM
Calm night anchor spot (well protected from all but NE wind)
Buoys or Berth in “Marina Nautica” - Veli Rat
*Possible without reservation (but crowded if the strong south wind is forecasted)
SWIMMING BRAKE: BAY BUKASIN (SUBMARINE MILITARY TUNNEL)
Distance - Brg-Mež 11NM / Brg-Sah 9NM / Pan-Mež 10NM / Pan-Sah 8NM
Mežanj
NOT protected anchorage! "Open sea" anchor spot with a beautiful sunset and round stone beach!
Saharun
Protected from all but south quadrant winds!
Top-rated sandy beach!
SWIMMING BRAKE: ISLAND VELE LAGNE (SEMI-SUBMERGED SHIP IN 5M DEPTH, GREAT SNORKELING)
Mežanj/Saharun bay - NP Kornati (Levrnaka)
Distance - 22NM
Possible to dock with every wind direction, but the bay is opened to NW wind. Berth pontoon owned by tavern "Levrnaka" (tel. +385 91 435 3777) 10min walk across the top of the island to the only sandy beach in the Kornati archipelago. Fresh fish and sunset terrace dining!
*Recommendation:
Navigate directly to the tavern, and you will pay a mooring fee (water and electricity) there. Since it is a national park, you need to purchase a daily ticket in a tavern; otherwise, you will be charged more for the same period (by speedboat rangers)
SWIMMING BREAK: 300 METERS BEFORE BAY "BRBISCICA" THERE IS A SMALL CAVE WITH A BEACH INSIDE, ENTER ONLY WITH CALM SEAS (VERY NARROW ENTRANCE)
Distance - 21NM
Murter is well protected from all winds (anchorage and marina). Murter is a Croatian wooden boatbuilding cradle; a scenic walk around the centre of Murter and Betina villages is a must-do. Michelin-star restaurant "Boba" combines modern techniques with traditional Dalmatian ingredients. We also recommend the restaurant "Fabro", which offers a free berth with water and electricity!
*To avoid crowded fuel stations on Friday before returning your yacht to Biograd, refuel here in Marina "Hramina."
SWIMMING BRAKE: IN-BETWEEN ISLANDS RAVNI AND KAMENI ŽAKANJ
Distance - 11NM
SWIMMING BRAKE: ISLAND VRGADA, COCKTAIL BAR "HAKUNA MATATA"
