Rogoznica

Because of its rugged coastline Croatia is a perfect sailing destination for new sailors and experienced ones. Rogoznica is perfectly situated half way between two important sailing regions Šibenik and Zadar which makes it a perfect starting point towards these two archipelagos.

Sailing is enjoyable and easy since most of the attractive destinations are close by and in the case of bad weather you can find shelter quick.

Best time of the year for sailing is definitely periods from April to October while during the peak season (July and August) there might be crowd of other sailing enthusiasts in the marinas or on interesting island locations. Other months like May, June, September and October are pleasant for sailing but you will be able to enjoy touristic sights with more ease since there is not to much crowd.

Because of the predominant Mediterranean climate, with hot and dry summers and rainy and mild winters, the temperature can go as high as to 40 °C with pleasant and cooling sea temperature of 25 °C.

In the Adriatic coast you can experience 8 winds with their own characteristic and each of them and can be discerned by the type of clouds that appear on the sky. Because Adriatic Sea is very tame it will not cause to much trouble for sailor but in some occasions, like in case of a sudden and strong wind called Neverin, it is advised to find a safe harbor while it lasts. This bad weather lasts for maximum half an hour but nevertheless it can be a powerful storm.

Waves occur together with strong wind and averagely they can be half to meter and a half high.
